Waterton // Flashback to Summer

We have only just entered Fall and this cold blooded Australian is already reminiscing the warm days of Summer! They say you acclimatise... I'm not so sure...

Waterton, is my new favourite corner of the world. I just love its cute, quaint yet magnificent feel. I could get lost in its beauty for days!
On yet another road trip we stayed the night here in Waterton, basking in its sunshine, natural beauty and wildlife. Yes, that grizzly was that close!

We missed out on hiking this time but we will return next Summer to get our adventure on.

I love this vintage jumpsuit, combining 2 of my favourite things - navy and polka dots!
With a little breeze coming off the water, having this white knit to throw over worked perfectly for both comfort and style. Simple sandals, accessories & my favourite basket and I was picnic ready. X

Colours in Between

Oh my, it has been way too long since my last post! So much has happened.
So, while i play catch up, i hope you enjoy this colour filled post. (Yes, i put a u in there, i'm Australian!)

This is one of my most favourite and treasured dresses. It is a 1930's, 100% silk maxi dress that my mama bear gave me and fits me like a glove. It has a few character holes here and there and i often wonder the luncheons and casual dinner parties it has seen in its day! I definitely sip my G&T's from a tea cup while wearing this beauty.

While on one of our many road trips in southern Alberta with visiting family, we ventured to Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump and the little movie-scene-like towns we discovered along the way. The day was stunning and of course my beau and i couldn't resist taking some pics with backdrops like these...

Dose Me Up

With family in town, we have been venturing on weekend road trips here, there and everywhere!
Given the chance, we always take the opportunity to try a new cafe. Its pretty safe to say we are coffee snobs... But, it is my husby's love, passion and lively hood, so I am going to say that makes it ok...

One of these trips took us through Red Deer in Canada and Dose Coffee Company was recommended to us by a friend. A stop that didn't disappoint! Roland and his team have created an atmosphere that is cool, calm and quality coffee focused.
Of course I couldn't let a photo op go by with a place as rad as this! With these new kids on the block there is no need to stop anywhere else in Red Deer.
Our cold drip coffee was just what the coffee doctor ordered, full bodied flavour, over ice, easy like Sunday afternoon...

How do you (up) do?

My hair is so long ... we'll for me it is!
On Saturday night as my husby, in-loves (in-laws) & myself planned our weekend roadtrip, I grabbed the 2 bobby pins I own, combed my fingers through my bangs and this is what happened.
I instantly loved it but I know the next time I try, it just won't be the same, it never is for me. So, I just had to snap a few pics for proof I can up do!

Stay tuned for my new Summer do ... its going to be dramatic! X

Into the Wild

Sunday was a glorious day! I smile as i think about it...
The sun was out and deliciously warm, kids were selling lemonade (love helping out the budding entrepreneurs), and we celebrated Cinco de Mayo with burritos, beers and beautiful friends.

Pattern on pattern, colour on colour, wild on wild! X

Crown of Pretties

Spring has sprung! … I think…
(I am beginning to think Calgary's weather is a little to schizophrenic for this Australian...)

This past Saturday afternoon seemed like the perfect time to find my inner hippie and create some crowns of pretties. To be honest I’m not flower crowns biggest fan… I love them on others!
However, my favourite job was my four years spent in a flower shop and I love when I get the honor to do the flowers for a wedding. Playing with flowers takes me to a happy place and calms my busy mind. I can't help but Sm!Le as I play and create with such beauties of nature... wow the inner hippie is really coming out now!

The sun was shining and it seemed like a fun idea to brush up on my floral design skills. I pushed aside my “to do” list, bought some fresh flowers and set up my workstation out in the back yard.

I picked & twisted and wired & tied... this was the end result... X

Style Me Grey

As we head into Spring (I’m positive it’s just around the corner…) I know we are all eager to pull out every piece of bright coloured clothing we own.
A perfect staple to pair with your brights is a simple grey t-shirt. With so many styles and colour options out there you are bound to find a shade of grey that best suits you.

From the jeans and t-shirt look to take you shopping, to a “Casual Friday “ look for the office, to a breezy maxi skirt for brunch with the girls - a grey t-shirt gives a polished casual chic look to any outfit.

Try these variations on for size…

Hello! Welcome!
For me, I’ve always found starting the hardest part. As a perfectionist (slowly changing), I often want to wait until I have everything in order before I start sharing my ideas, thoughts and dreams. Starting this blog was no different. I have been dreaming and creating this for far too long, it was time to just let go and get it out there. So here I am, doing what I can with the knowledge I have. Starting something...
Thanks to my beautiful family and friends who continue to encourage me despite my procrastinating...

This blog will be full of inspiration from around the world… through style, beauty and creativity.
I am Sassianne and this is my blog… come adventure with me… X
